the bricks

so matt and i were out and about the other day, procrastinating from responsibilities...

we were heading to the loom, a (yuppie) loft development. the bottom floor contains art space, a coffee shop, a yarn cafe (!), yoga, a screenprinting shop, and some other cool businesses.

they have a permanent book swap in the common area, and i had previously spied "letters to mrs. roosevelt" there, a book he said he apparently coveted.

loom

halfway there it started to rain, so we ran the rest of the way. we ducked in and decided to do something constructive with our time- outfit photos!

i've always favored a much more fitted silhouette... with my shapelier body type, i always figured if i didn't show my waist, you wouldn't know it was there :)

however, lately i've been finding myself embracing the slouchy. i thrifted this plain, shapeless dress thinking i'd never wear it. but it's been a staple for me this summer.

I love me a good slouchy outfit! Layers and layers! This is such a great one. I, too, prefer a slimmer silhouette to accentuate my curves, but every once in a while, you just gotta slouch!

Happy Monday!

I'm with you! I certainly feel like I can't do slouchy or I just look dumpy! You can totally pull it off though.

lookin very pretty miss chantilly. i dig the slouchy look, it's like a more acceptable version of the snuggie or pajama jeans. we can be comfy and not look completely insane, this outfit proves it. :)

I always swing back and forth on slouchy vs. cinched. I love slouchy for comfort, but go back to cinched for flattering. Ultimately, we all have to wear what we like!

This hat is adorable. I have a couple 'slouchy' things in my closet that I've decided I don't even care if they don't give me an hourglass figure. Because I love them. This is super cute on you. Your knee socks? Also awesome.

Wow, what a fun place...they seriously have a bit of everything I love! As for your outfit...you always inspire me with your fun and creative color combos. This one is sweet and I love the dress. I'm a curvy girl too and am completely a sucker for slouchy frock dresses like this because they are so darn comfy and cute. Looks darling on you:)
