moments & days

these last few days have been lazy-ish.

you know that feeling when you know work and emails and things have been piling up, and you just don't want to deal? yeah... :P

what have i been up to? i don't really know. i can never remember my days. it always takes me at least a few minutes to remember...

...i went walking around the city to take art-pictures with matt. went to brunch. looked at bikes. learned a garth brooks (!) song for a student. forgot about emails that i was supposed to answer. watched too many episodes of the shows carnivale and homeland. procrastinated.

still feeling a bit odd about the future, and the whole attempt at self-employment. still feeling a bit foggy. there are a few things i'm excited about on that front though! so i remain vaguely confident that things will work out, somehow.

there WILL be a less melancholy post tomorrow. lol. just wanted to drop in and say hello after a few days of absence, and be truthful about how i've been feeling :)

hope no one holds it against me. xoxo

  1. Everyone feels that way sometimes and it can consume people... Those who succeed, endeavor to move past it. Those who fail, stay in it's grasp. Endeavor...

  2. I've been feeling the same kind of melancholia around the future (I'm leaving my job is why!) I think good risks often leave you with that feeling. But as long as you work hard at what you love, it should all settle itself in the end x

  3. I am on the same boat. I definitely am trying to just remember where my days have gone as well. Hope that everything goes well for you.

  4. I am so happy for you to be truthful. You are so brave and strong with diving into self-employment and I can't wait to see where your journey takes you.

Also, that mural in the top photo is wonderful.

  5. I hear ya! I feel this way so often!

I love these photos! The first one in particular :D.

    Have a great week!

  6. Aw Chantilly, your future will for sure be bright & beautiful:) I know what you mean though, I dread days after I have procrastinated, argh. I'm really too good at doing the tv marathon thing...its White Collar for me right now. Anyhow I love that purple coat & that first picture of you looks like it came out of a storybook!!!

  7. I don't know about you, but I love being able to look back on a vacation or a break and think, "What did I do during all of that time off?" Then you know that you had an awesome time.

  8. I think days like that are completely normal, and sometimes necessary. I find that after having that feeling for a while, I shake myself out of it by doing something great, or at the very least something I've always wanted to accomplish. Maybe this is just a sign of the wonderful things to come :]

  9. Thank you for being honest and NO I don't hold it against you! Pretty photos btw, I just love that first one!

  10. I love your photos vintage...

  11. thank you all for your encouraging comments. x

  12. I hear the hardest part about unemployment is getting started in the first place. Keep working at it and soon it will be worth it!
