apple red

this weekend, i took a little trip up to rhode island to visit family. it was probably the shortest trip i've taken in awhile (only three days!) while there, i saw some very important family members who i haven't spoken with in a long time. it's been very emotional few days for me.

but at least i looked good through my stormy mood :)

these photos were taken by my mom, in my parent's yard. don't you just love that little bench? these photos just feel like fall to me... perhaps it's the leaves all over the ground.

and oh hey, this is my new favorite cardigan. it's the "boyfriend" style one from target. maaan, i love me some cardigans (maybe a little too much?!) total wardrobe staple. even in the summer, it feels weird to leave the house without one. i'm really attracted to slouchy ones like this, but sometimes i wonder if they're the most flattering for my body type. maybe i should wear something more cropped.

then again, sometimes it's not always about what's the most flattering. it's about wearing something that you feel good in.

  1. A cardigan is an essential part of my Fall uniform. I love those yellow tights. They feel really Fall to me.

  2. What an adorable garden! And I love the color combo in your outfit ;). I love cardis, but for some reason, whenever I try one on, I feel weird as if they were not meant to fit me right :/.

    Happy Thursday! ;D

    1. see, that's when you just gotta do what erica below suggests. "fuck flattering." plus, i think a cardi would look really good on you!

  3. Have you heard of the "fuck flattering" movement? It's pretty much about saying screw it to what people consider flattering and just wearing what you love. I think you look amazing!

Something I've recently been learning the hard way! I too am a huge cardigan fanatic. I feel totally naked without one.
Also, those mustard tights are amazing. Need!

    1. i go through phases of being ultra conscious of what's "flattering," and not caring. you do need the tights... they were totally affordable, too!

  6. I just winterized my closet and it is now half cardigans, organized in a rainbow (three shades of pink, three shades of green, one brown, etc.). I love it, and I love collecting cardigans because I wear them EVERY day. Target always has really great colors and they are comfy, too! Love this outfit, and it is the perfect fall day. Hope you are feeling better now...hugs...

    1. i just hung up all my cardigans today, too! usually they're in a big pile in a basket, but everything was too hectic and hard to find. i decided they deserved closet space. thank you!! xx
