Urban Outfitters Coastal Derek Cardigan

How was everybody's weekend? I had a super lazy one. Biggest thing, probably: I've been re-watching Six Feet Under, and I'm on Season 4.

However, I did feel slightly productive, since we finally got to taking some new style photos! I had this outfit planned for awhile, and I knew that I wanted to incorporate these glasses with it. I really do love the whole thing, but I reallly remind myself of an American Apparel ad (even though I'm not wearing it.)

Either way, we had a LOT of fun taking these photos!!

I don't know about you, but I like bragging about my scores. If a friend compliments my outfit, I'll always say something like "Oh this? I got it at Savers for $1!!" My mother hated it. She would always say that I didn't have to tell people how much I had paid for something... like it was embarrassing. For me, It was always a mark of achievement.

Take for example, these high waisted pants. They're kind of my new thing, and I got them at Urban Outfitters for $15!! You might remember my last style post when I talked about all the awesome deals I got on pants recently. I think they're perfect on me, and really suited to my body type. I just need 10 more pair...

Also, this simple little shirt is now one of my favorites. It was an incredible UO steal at $2.50. You read that right... two dollars and fifty cents. You can't even thrift clothes that cheap these days. discounts on top of clearance! Is there anything better?

  3. These pants look amazing on you, I love the high waist. I'm terrible for telling people exactly how much my outfit cost as well, I think it is one of the reasons I like personal style blogging so much, it gives me the perfect excuse to show of my latest cheap finds xo

  4. Wow I'm loving those high waisted pants!! The shirt is so inexpensive. I hear about deals like those in thrift stores but normally a shirt is $8-$12. Where can I find these deals?! haha So lucky!

    1. I know, I couldn't believe some of the deals I found. I guess Urban Outfitters was having a 50% off already discounted merchandise sale a few weeks ago. I think it was just in stores though. I was just lucky enough to catch it!

  7. I love this outfit, and I too love sharing my deals. I mean, what are you supposed to say when someone compliments you... 'Thanks.' Really? That just won't do. Some bragging is totally in order when you're wearing a shirt that cost you $2.50! Plus, I think it is a great way to encourage others to get thrifting and bargain hunting. Who wouldn't want to hit up all the same shops as you after hearing about those deals?

    1. Lol! I mean granted, I'd feel a lot better if I thrifted it... there's part of me that feels guilty whenever I buy anything new. Not just for the spending money aspect, but also because most of our stuff is made overseas by very underpaid and unhappy people :(

I'm kind of a bottom feeder when it comes to clothes-buying though- I mostly only shop sales. So I do find some pleasure in the fact that UO and others reap the least profit possible from me.

HEAVY STUFF, MAN. Anyways... yeah, sales rock :P

  8. Don't you love finding pants like that? I have some like that too and wishing I knew at the time how amazing they'd be and how I'd want them in every single colour because I absolutely would have bought them every single colour, but of course now I can't...duh, that's just the way it is :(

Also, I totally do the same thing...it IS a mark of achievement and people are usually like "Holy shit that's awesome!" which is a great reaction and I feel like I accomplished something haha.

    1. I knowww! I did manage to snag a few other pairs of pants at the sale, but I wish I could've found more of these ones! I didn't know how much I'd love them.

I know... I feel like my mom is thinking of the days when it was really embarrassing to have to go thrift shopping. Admitting it was just something you didn't do. Now though, everyone loves to thrift! Which is good and bad- seeing as prices keep going up, and I feel like thrift stores are more picked over than ever.

      ANYWAY. Tangent heaven....

  9. I'm a thrifting-fiend and am always raving about it to people when they compliment an outfit. Totally mark of achievement!

  10. Adorable outfit! ;P And I've just realized that I usually tell people how cheap the stuff I buy is, too, haha, I guess because I think I consider it an achievement?

    Hope you're having a fun week! :D
