Beacon NY Metro North

Last weekend, we wanted to blow out of town for a few days, and Beacon, NY was the spot.  It's a cute little town just north of the city, filled with lots of trees, cafes, and Brooklyn refugees :P

It rained a lot, which slightly hindered our plans to explore Main Street- with its tons of cute little shops and restaurants.  But we did it anyway, armed with umbrellas.  The grand finale of the strip is completely majestic waterfall, which made me feel insignificant in the best way possible.

Other than that, we spent time hanging around the gorgeous, mansion-like bed + breakfast where we stayed.  Fanciest place ever... and the room key was a skeleton key!

Anyway... hope everyone's been having a good week so far.  I'll be heading up to RI for the weekend!

  1. That looks awesome! I would love to stay in a fancy bed and breakfast like that. Although, I am forever afraid of skeleton key locks because my step mom and I accidentally locked ourselves in her room for a couple hours with one!

  8. Hope you come back to Beacon soon and it's not a wash out. They have Second Saturday every month where stores and galleries are open late and there's stuff going on Main St. If you come back, let me know! I live 15 minutes from Beacon. :)

What a beautiful b&b! Ryan and I stayed at a b&b on our wedding night that used a key like that. It was very cool. Also, that pic of you with the umbrella is perfection.
