Flowy Black Dress

Flowy Black Dress

little black dress

Hope everyone's weekend was wonderful :)  Me and Matt took advantage of the sunny weather to clown around on the roof and take some new photographs.

love the sleeves and overall style of this little black dress.  But to be quite honest, there were some details that missed the mark for me.  Such as, even as a short-skirt fan, it turned out to be way too short.  Actually, it's probably closer to a little black shirt :P  I wanted it to wear it as a dress though, so I layered another black flowy skirt under it to do the trick.

But also... the waist bubbles out in a way I can't control.  I think if I had less ample hips, this would look cute...  but it's really made with a shorter, more smaller-framed girl in mind.  If that sounds like you,  this dress is your ticket!

Well... either way, I can't complain about such a gorgeous, sun-drenched Saturday, playing dress-up.  Hope everyone had a fun one :)

    1. Heyyo! Actually, I've been way into paying attention to the light outside lately... I love to shoot when it's overcast/ cloudy outside, or right at the end of the day before the sun goes down (the golden hour.)

I remember being disappointed on this day, because it was super sunny out!! (Can you even take that phrase seriously, lol.) It was about 5:30 though, so the sun was making its way down. Anyway... this is a really long-winded way to tell you that we took the pics with my back to the sun, so it's backlit.

Also, they came out a bit dark, so I cranked the exposure in Lightroom :P

    1. Yeah, too bad they're broken now! Haha. Second time wearing them, cheap things. They are cute for photos though, so I'm thinking of taking a nail gun to them. We gotta do what it takes! :P

  4. such a bummer the shoes broke during the shoot, F21 has some cute things but the downside is you never know how long they''ll last. I know this first hand!

the dress/skirt (i thought it was a dress at first) looks good on you, & I hear you on dresses being more like shirts once you put them on!

    1. I've been feeling like F21 has upped their game in the quality department in recent years, but it's really hit or miss. I've had some stuff from them for years! Yet there is always something that breaks, pills, or wears down super quick.

I think this really just enforces my belief that of all the things to skimp on... shoes are never it. I ALWAYS regret buying cheap shoes, every single time.

      Anyway... thank you Emmett! xxo
