May Goals

May Goals

So how has everyone been loving this gorgeous transition back to spring?  The last couple have weeks have been really nice... a much needed respite from the cold weather that's been driving us crazy.

I've been thinking a lot about "spring cleaning" and how that can apply to all areas in one's life.  A lot of things that have been important to me have fallen by the wayside.  And well... I guess that's life!    But I figured I'd start putting some of my goals out there to the Universe, so I can start getting motivated again.  Nothing happens without goals.  No one knows that better than me in this past year.

MAY GOALS

Change the blog's layout back to a regular blog style.  In the fall I was SO excited to change to the current grid design, but it's been formatting issues galore.  Plus I did some test marketing (aka, asked my husband and my brother), and the layout confused both of them.  Gotta go old school again.

Plan our summer camping trips!!  Last year, I went camping for the first time since I was 5 years old.  We drove up to the Catskills with our neighbors and friend Kayleigh, and it turned out to be a really good time!

TBT, I don't love sleeping on the ground and not being able to do my hair/ makeup properly.  But I DO love a super cheap vacation with friends and smelling like campfire in the morning.  Bug bites and bad hair are a small price to pay.

Get relaxed AF in the Virgin Islands. Yes, this is a humble brag :P  We're going to St. Croix for a week starting on Saturday.

Matt and I are getting a lot more interested in travel, and have a laundry list of places we want to go.  Actually, one of the reasons I got serious about playing music was because I wanted to go out and see as many places and meet as many people as possible via touring.  It's exciting, and I always feel like my best self when I'm in a new place.

Hopefully more explorations are on the horizon for us :)))

Plan and execute one blog post per week.  Getting back to the actual to-do list...  I know one post per week isn't exactly a game changer, but it's a vast improvement from 0 posts per week.  I need to start small or I'll just intimidate myself and never do it.  Sticking to one of my mom's wisest quotes- "Progress, not perfection."

Re-organize sidebars and info pages.  At a certain point when my blog slowed down, I took down all the info sections thinking I'd re-do them at some point in the future.  Well surprise... it's the future!  Time to re-arrange some things.

Post 3x per week on Instagram.  Instagram is the only social media platform I truly relate to anymore.  Pretty images always make me happy.  I tend to post here and there, and have been trying to have a more consistent schedule for ages.

Apply for more music teaching jobs.  I sooo miss teaching as much as I did back when I was in Brooklyn!  I really do love helping people find what their potential truly is.

+ PUT OLD RECORDED SONGS ON SOUNDCLOUD!!  This might actually get done in June... or July.  It's been so long, I'm not sure how to go about releasing recordings anymore!  I think I just have to say "screw it" and stick them on the Internet, whether or not anyone is listening at this point.  They just need to be out there.

Hope you all have a great rest of the week!
