adults at play

when you're on a quest to survive without a traditional 9-5 job, you quickly find yourself becoming a jill-of-all-trades. so last week, i had a photography gig :)

i was shooting another singer-songwriter's recording session... which was awesome. it was at nola studios in midtown... this is the live room:

i also loved finding all the little nooks and crannies with things like cute pianos and vibraphones in the corner... musical instruments are so beautiful :)

  1. it looks very cool:).. i love the last photo!!!

  2. That's fun! My boyfriend is a sound engineer, that's what our house would look like if he was given a chance!

  3. This seems really interesting! Thanks for sharing.

  4. Love that sign "Adults at Play". Awesome that you had that job. :)

  5. These photos are so pretty. I would love to be able to see you perform someday. :) Lucky people.

  6. I'm a huge sucker for vintage instruments...pianos in particular. What make/model is that 2nd photos down. It's beautiful! Lovely photos are quite the renaissance woman:)

  7. These are beautiful!! That sign is too cute.

  8. Chantilly, I love the blog! I found you via Elycia (I'm a co-sponsor). Mr. is gushing over all the recording gear (he's the muso) - great photos :)

  9. This is a very good concept to remember. My graphic design professor was telling us the other day to never have more than 40% of your clientele in the same industry. Diversify seems to be the name of the game, and it looks like you are doing well at that!

  10. Awesome!!! I'd love to see photos of the band as well ;).

    Have a nice night!

  11. rebecca- i didn't know that your boyfriend was a sound engineer? that's awesome!!

sarabear- i loved the "adults at play" sign :P

amber- somedayyyy!! i'd love to come to tennessee...

marisa- unfortunately, i don't know! it was in a little hidden room, and i snapped a picture of it really quick.

toni- yay, another musician boyfriend! i'm sure it's the greatest.

jen- that's a really interesting thought. i always feel like for indie businesses, the focus is always on niche. and if you're in a certain area, to focus your efforts there and only there. i guess my attempts to "diversify" are just a result of trying to stay afloat :)

    thank you, all!! <3<3

thank you for taking the time to leave a comment :) i appreciate your thoughts.
