did anyone else's site go dark because of the godaddy hack yesterday? weird, right? i guess they (anonymous) did it to call attention to the fact that godaddy does shady things like supporting the sopa bill. it certainly got my attention. perhaps it's high time i take my domain name elsewhere...
anyway, i feel like it's been awhile since i did a "life moments" post. i'm really excited to share some of these pictures, and show you how i've been getting back into my routines. i'm feeling a little more back in reality now, even though i'm not quite 100%.
i've been drinking yerba mate quite a bit from my favorite new mug. i'm usually a fan of vintage mugs, but i couldn't resist this one from target.
i've missed my office area so much. i forgot how much i love all the cute little details, and how inspired it makes me. evidently, scout and max slept here a lot while i was gone :)
cinnamon sugar french toast for dinner.
my september schedule compared to last march... i have to fill up all those spaces again!
this is a little book necklace i ordered from etsy awhile back. on the last day of camp, i asked friends to sign it. now i have a bunch of sweet notes to look at when i'm feeling down :)
matt and i took a short trip to rhode island last week. this was his "new friend" card at foxwoods- needed to redeem his $10 food voucher.
shopping with my mom... 50% off day at savers!
my parents' new puppy, bella!!
we passed by a graveyard, and decided to stop and take some pictures. i thought this stone was especially intriguing. who is this person? someone loves them very much to lovingly display all these treasures for them... notice the coins and little toy cars.
random trip to watch hill... the light coming through a really beautiful wooden gate. looks like the gateway to heaven.
flowers at watch hill.
lunch with the family... coffee & iced tea.
a cute boy's butt :) couldn't resist...
what have you been up to lately? xx
♥ listen to my new record on bandcamp ♥
Love these photos and what an interesting graveyard!
ReplyDeleteBy the way, it makes me happy that you like yerba mate! :D Argentinians can't live without it. Do you buy mate bags or do you drink it like the actual mate with the straw? One of David's friends usually asks me to have some mate. It's funny because the whole point of drinking it (the one you drink with the straw) is the sharing experience, so all the people drink from the same container + straw ... I don't think his girlfriend cares for that ( she gives me "looks" every now and then, haha), but I'm not going to change the tradition just because I'm here, hehe.
Hope you have a fun day! ;D
yerba mate rocks! unfortunately, i've never had it the "real" way. i just have a tea-type version, with dried leaves. i like the effect a bit more than coffee sometimes... it's more euphoric, and less cracked-out. if that makes sense :P
Deletei love your little updates! that mug is so pretty, i cant believe you got it at Target. i was there this morning too, and now i'm kicking myself for not looking at their decor section. and that etsy necklace is so adorable, what a sweet keepsake
ReplyDeleteyou should go! i think that mug has since gone on sale. i bought it for $3, so it's probably like, $1.25 now. x
DeleteI always love these bits on anyone's blog :). What a great mug! I haven't been to a target in ages. You have such lovely photos, thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteglad you like :)
DeleteThe hill, the coffee, the toast. So much love.
ReplyDeleteyour trip looks very beautiful! I have always wanted to go to Rhode Island and I hope to make it out there too. I also have that mug from Target and am drinking tea from it now! It really is a cute mug and seems to be pretty popular - I have seen it around on instagram.Your office space is really cute! The cinnamon french toast looks super tasty
ReplyDeleteyes, the mug does seem to be popular! i've seen it on a few other blogs, as well. x
DeleteYou are such a talented photographer. I love following your blog, because it provides such phenomenal inspiration! I always look forward to your posts :)

oh, thank you so much! photography is something that's pretty new to me, and i don't know many of the technical aspects. but i know art, and i know what i like! x
DeleteSeeing your desk area reminded me of your wonderful album and now I am going to pause Arrested Development to listen to it. It's that important.
ReplyDeletethe best compliment. hope i was worth missing arrested development for :P
Deletesuch interesting photos! the book necklace is darling. what a good idea! and I like the flower in pocket of the "cute boy's butt" photo ;)
ReplyDeleteha, it's why i took the picture! glad you caught that little detail. xoxo
Deleteoh gosh. I'm really jealous of your life. My favorite photo is the one of the necklace that is filled with signatures from your camp friends. Those written words will be there forever, just like your memories.
ReplyDelete!! don't be! my life is... probably not as prettified as it seems here. i can't deny... the necklace is nice to have though. :)
DeleteWhat a darling doggy.
ReplyDeletethanks!
DeleteI must know Chantilly - how are you editing your images/ what setting is your camera on? They are soooo very pretty and have such a dreamy quality to them.
ReplyDeleteSounds like things are getting back on track and are a bit more peaceful. Yerba mate tea..or any tea for that matter always helps me get centered :)
I love your little life moments posts. It's about time I do another one myself.

hey! i'm gradually getting more comfortable with camera settings... but usually, i just try to put the ISO as low as possible, and the f-stop around 1/60, so that there will be no chance of blur... depending on the lighting. a good depth of field is always nice, so i try to keep that low-ish, too.
Deletei think the editing is really where the dreamy quality comes from... i usually use pixlr.com's retro "solomon" setting :) lately i've been checking out the totally rad photoshop actions... they have a few you can download for free! although, a few of those above photos, i just think the light was really awesome at that time of day. like the picture of the flowers.
aaand, i've just written a book...
Beautiful blogs and music...I like them ALL! I can't pick just ONE!
ReplyDeleteaww, thank you!
Deletewhat a neat collection of photos! the french toast looks especially YUMMY!
ReplyDeletep.s. i just found your blog through the wonderful wednesday weekly link party and i'm your blog's newest follower!
dash dot dotty
