I often ask Matt his opinion about my outfit before we photograph, and he gives surprisingly good advice.  He always tells me if my colors are clashing, or if I'm wearing the wrong shoes, or have on just one piece of jewelry too many.  He's got a good eye.  He's helped me avoid many a faux pas, and (especially since the weather has gotten warmer) we've started to both really enjoy the picture taking process as an activity together.


So when I showed him this outfit, his eyes shone with genuine delight.  I could tell he was excited with the look.  He said he wished I would wear this dress more.  Then he said:  "You look like a Christmas tree!  Wait, no!  ... I mean... you look like an elf!!"


Sigh.  Oh, boys....

He explained that what he was trying to say was that I reminded him of was a powerful, beautiful forest lady... like the elves in Lord of the Rings.  Whereas, I automatically thought Christmas elves.  It was a little hard to get my mojo back after that... haha.  But since I really liked the look (and who cares about a word stumble?) I pulled it together and hustled through the shoot.


Anyway, I love the color of this dress.  It's a thicker material... probably better for autumn or winter (I ordered it in February, and just received it a few weeks ago.)  But still very lovely :)  I liked it with the belt, which covers up a seam that runs across the waistline.
