Hello friends! So who's super excited about the holidays?? 🙋🙋‍♂️🙋 What are you planning on doing this year? I have to admit, I've been getting more hyped about it than usual. Why you ask? Well, as you know, NYC is one of the most festive places to be for the holidays. And this year I've been keeping extra busy visiting all the Christmas installations New York is famous for. Just so that I could report back to you!

Ok, so I have to be honest... the pictures are really pretty, but this night was one of those times where things go so horribly wrong, it's just hysterical.  And now that I've told the story about it a jillion times, I'm ready to embrace the absurdity of it all....

Thanksgiving, Christmas, and now New Year's...

Why... this must be the week of sharing every holiday photo humanly possible!! :P

I'm happy New Years was such a total blast this year. Normally, I don't love hyped-up holidays where you feel obligated to have fun... it always just makes me feel like when my holiday turns out to be completely boring, I'm not doing what I'm supposed to like the rest of the world.

Luckily, we got invited to the same party we went to last year! Like last year, We went over to our friend Kayleigh's apartment. Like last year, she made ham. But unlike last year, she put up a photobooth wall!

She even dubbed it "Selfie Central." And many selfies (and regular photos) were taken that night. Oh yes.

Christmas Fun 2013

So here we go from Thanksgiving straight into Christmas! Time is weird. Anyway, here's a few snaps from my annual trek home for the holidays...



We just hung out at home most of the time, with the exception of a couple little jaunts... like picking Matt up at the train, and a trip to my favorite thrift store...


Which... I have to sidetrack for a minute to just tell you about this place. You know how most thrift stores have caught on to the idea that they're "cool" now, so they can jack up their prices? Yeah, not this one. It's located in a nice area, where the moneyed people of the town unload all their things when they get tired of them. Only, everything in the store is like $3. (Sorry for no pics... I was caught up in all the good deals!)

Every time I go, I keep expecting the prices to go up, but they just never do... you're guaranteed to find something good for cheap! This time, I got a pair of Rockport oxfords and a really pretty cardigan, and paid $6. Can't go wrong.


Anyway, we topped off the trip with our traditional dinner out at Chen's, aka the best Chinese restaurant of all tiiiiiiiime.

Happy Valentine's

I spotted this heart lollipop the other day at a store called "Party Glitters" while refreshing my tissue paper supply (needed for mailing cd's.) I tried to take a few cutesy pictures with it... but sadly I had about five minutes, and the sun was fast disappearing. Wrangling the light is such a pain sometimes. Guess I'll try again tomorrow. (Get ready for a week's worth of heart lollipop photos, everyone!!! .....J/k.)

So any plans for tonight? I think there might be a tapas dinner in our immediate future, and I'm pretty excited. I'm not usually one to care much about this particular holiday, but I'm sort of looking forward to it this year, for some reason...

New Year's Eve

When you see tomorrow's post, it's going to seems like I'm jumping around a bit... because I am. I wanted to show a few snaps from New Year's, even though I've still got more pictures from RI to show you :) It's fresher on my mind, and I'm feeling a little frisky.

Anyway, our friend Kayleigh invited us over to her adorable apartment, and we spent the night looking glam and drinking lychee mimosas and whiskey. She even cooked for everyone. No sooner had I walked in her place, than was handed a heaping plate of baked ham and creamed spinach! A lovely hostess, indeed.
