I've been keen on picking up more straw hats to wear this spring. So I was excited when I recently acquired a pretty little number from Sammydress! However, it was unfortunately a bit crumpled when I pulled it out of the bag.
I spent about an hour being sad about the hat. I mean, I really wanted to wear it, but couldn't see how it was possible in its rumple-y state. Then, I suddenly remembered ... Google :P There was no reason I should let a good hat go to waste, and it turns out there's a handy-dandy way to fix it.
STEPS TO REMEDY A CRUSHED HAT
# 1 Wet a washcloth
# 2 Place it over the brim of your hat
# 3 Iron the washcloth (medium-high heat)
# 4 Repeat steps until your hat is sufficiently flat

And most importantly, # 5- Wear your hat like a boss :)
xoxo!!

I have a turquoise straw hat that is seriously crumpled and sad looking. I pretty much sat on it and never thought it could be fixed. So thanks for the tip!
ReplyDeleteTry it! The hat will definitely be wearable again :)
DeleteGreat tip! I also spray mine with starch (like drench it) then let it dry and shape from there. I will have to try this tip out though :)
