Coney Island
Oh nothing, just a little trip to Coney Island...
We did lots of touristy stuff, like eating at Nathan's, and riding the Wonder Wheel!. Plus there was some non-touristy stuff, like having a large man in a bikini twerk and wink at us as we were eating nachos. Just a normal day, really...
But behold its majesty- a shot of the beach from the top of the Wonder Wheel!
We look like ants...
When the ride worker asked us if we wanted a stationary or swinging cart, everyone unanimously agreed: "SWINGING!!!" Silly me just thought it meant that we would be able to swing it back and forth, like normal ferris wheel.
Well... as we started to make our journey to the top, the weight of cart suddenly shifted. It launched forward on rails, completely unexpected.. And for a second, I thought we'd detach and go airborne!!
I know... I'm a total ride wimp! It was soooo not dangerous.
Corndogs are my favorite.
At the end, we made our way down to the beach to put our toes in the water. The beach was SO nice, although very crowded. Honestly, I don't know how we managed to get this picture with only me in it! There were SO many people.
Still, I love the beach. But that story will be told another time. ♥♥

How fun! I haven't been to Coney Island in sooooo long. Part of it is the really long train ride from midtown, yikes! When I did go, I usually just find a part of the beach where there were no lifeguards because it would be pretty empty (but you can't go in the water).
ReplyDeleteAaaw this is totally on my bucket list! Looks like such a beautiful magical place! And I really love your beahy kimono look! :)
ReplyDeleteLooks so fun! I haven't ever been there but everyone says it's so fun. I definitely need to go one of these days!

Whoa- I don't think I've ever seen a beach that crowded, that is crazy! Looks like a fun day! I've totally reached a point in my life where a ferris wheel can shake me up a bit and that makes my younger, ride-loving self roll her eyes :)
ReplyDeleteYour smile is radiating in that last photo. I love it! I need to make it to Coney Island one day, because I think I'd love it. Ever been to the Mermaid Parade?
ReplyDeleteYou look so happy and carefree :D That's what it's all about <3
